The Central European University (CEU) was established in 1991 to promote educational and academic development throughout the former socialist block. The Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy of the CEU is a pan-regional centre of excellence for environment-related studies, and it is also uniquely positioned to be a leader organization in energy-efficiency related research and market transformation activities in the former socialist block. The CEU has devoted its work to the promotion of sustainable energy policies for a decade.
